Weekly blog 01/26

This week I was surprised by Evan while we were playing tag. I was running from other people when Evan surprised me. It was surprising because I was running and running then he jumped out at me when I was running. I learned that I would now pay attention to my surroundings because when Evan surprised me I was only paying attention behind me.

This article is about rewritable paper that does not require ink or real paper and can be used up again and again 20 times. The cool thing about it is that the ink requires Electrons and Atoms to make the "ink" work.

Citation: Kowalski, Kathiann. "Rewritable Paper: Prints with Light, Not Ink." Rewritable Paper: Prints with Light, Not Ink. Kathiann Kowalski, 15 Jan. 2015. Web. 29 Jan. 2015.

How much did you know about the topic before you read the article?
If you are asking about Electrons and atoms and stuff like that, then I know somethings about that stuff. But if you are asking about the paper and "ink" then I didn't know quite a lot about it. So that is how much I knew about this topic before I read the article.

  • Why did you choose this article?
I choose this article because when I saw this I thought it was cool and it would help stop cutting down trees. It would also save us from using ink a lot at school, work, home, etc. And that is why I picked this article for my blog.

  • How does the information provided in this article affect the environment?
This info in this article would affect the environment by stop cutting down trees. Also stop using ink a lot as well and not using machines with gas to cut down those trees. And that is how this info can affect the environment.

  • One question you have after reading the article. How would you go about answering that question.
Is the rewritable paper finished yet? (How I would answer it) No because we still have a lot of issues with this rewritable paper. Those problems include: You put some writing on the paper then it would darken in 2 days or more. And that is just one problem there are more problems with the rewritable paper.

Weekly Blog 01/26

Surprise: A surprise this week for me was when I was coming out of my bed on Wednesday morning I expected my little brother to be at school but instead he was in the kitchen playing video games. It was surprising because my little brother is most likely at school at 8:00. This teaches me that I should look before thinking that my little brother has left for school.

Summary: One thing I learned from the article is that drones can be used for many things and can be very expensive to buy. Another thing that I learned from the article is that how drones can be very useful for some stuff that you want to do.

How much did you know about the topic before you read the article?
I knew quite a lot about this article because when my dad watches the news I most likely watch it with him as well and there are drones on the news. I know things like Amazon is planning to deliver packages with drones, drones are used to fire weapons to destroy stuff and more. And that is how much I know about this article.

  • Why did you choose this article?
I choose this article because it looked interesting and I knew some stuff about drones. Another reason why is because it required drones and I like drones. And that is why I picked this article.

  • How does the information provided in this article affect the future?
The info in the article will affect the future because maybe when a awesome model of a drone is on sale and some guy doesn't want it and he looks at is article and he makes his own drone or tells more people about it. So that is how it could affect the future.

  • One question you have after reading the article. How would you go about answering that question.
One question I have is why the article starts with using a drone for saving rhinos and other animals then the middle part of the article is about other drones and the ending is about the drone saving the animals again, why is that? How I would answer it is that it was like that because this article is about drones and not just about saving animals with a drone.

Weekly blog 01/16

One thing that surprised me this week is when Ms. Garcia brought in a little plushy looking toy. It was surprising because I was expecting to start a experiment at the beginning of class but instead Ms. Garcia brought that plushy looking thing to class. Ms. Garcia maybe brought that plushy looking thing to test us or teach us something.

One thing I learned this week is that you shouldn't think that something is like plushy or hard or something like that just by my sight. Another thing I learned is that when you put a M&M in hot water it dissolves really fast.

  • How much did you know about the topic before we started? What do you now know about the topic that you did not know before?

I did not know about this topic before I came to Stem because we kept on focusing on like history, math and more but we did not really do that much science at my old school. Now that I am in Stem I know learn more than like at my old school. I now know a lot about plant and animal cells, the scientific method and more.

  • How do you feel about your work this week? What parts of it do you particularly like? Dislike? Why?

I think my work this week was detailed and explained about a lot of stuff about my experiments that I did this week. I liked it when we got to look at the experiments when they were in the process of dissolving. I liked it because we just looked at the experiment at do nothing else.

  • What grade would you give yourself? Why?

I would give myself a A because my work was good and detailed. Another reason why I would give my self a A is because I actually did it while some other people sometimes don't do it for their grade. The final reason why I would give myself a A is because I did all of the work.

  • One thing I would like to improve upon is ...

One thing I would to improve on is my grade. I would like to improve on my grade because I really want to get my grade level over 95 percent. I would really want to do that because I want to keep my grade up a A.

Weekly Blog 01/09

This week during science in our mid term I was expecting to take like test or something like that but instead we all did a quiz on Kahoot.it.

During this week we worked on making questions, inferences, testing the experiment and making a observation. Some other things we did are making a experiment with M&Ms.

  • How much did you know about the topic before we started?

I did not do any experiments before I came to Adventure except that one day when I had science day. But still I did not do any experiments before I came to Adventure. And I learn more stuff here than back at my old school.

  • How do you feel about your work this week? What parts of it do you particularly like? Dislike? Why?

I think that the homework and schoolwork that I did this week was good and detailed. I loved every last part of it. It was one of the coolest things I have done and saw in Adventure before.

  • What grade would you give yourself? Why?

I think that I would give myself a A. I would give myself a A because my work was detailed and I actually did it. And that is why I would give myself a A.

  • One thing I would like to improve upon is ...

One thing I would like to improve upon is how good my work is and rechecking it for mistakes. I put those down because for example on my rainforest report I got poor credit on that because I did not recheck it and do it that good. So that is why I want to improve on those things.
